City parks are often good places to see deer as they enter the city to avoid predators and are often fed by well meaning people. My favourite park to walk in Winnipeg, MB is no different and has a healthy population of whitetail deer. This spring I set out to find a fawn and after 2 weeks of looking I came across this little one lying in the woods a good distance off the main trail. I was thankful that the doe had chosen such a well hidden spot as I was able to take some pictures of the fawn without attracting unneeded attention from passersby. This little one must have been days old as it was too weak to even hold up its head. As I left, I noticed a whitetail deer had begun to approach the area, likely the fawns mother returning as they do throughout the day.
